The MEINL Daf is a classical Persian pre-tuned frame drum with a rich tradition. It has ring snares nearly all the way around the inside of the drum, and is played with a lot of movement. MEINL Percussion has a new style of Daf to suit the modern player! We placed the rings in three sections, at the top of the Daf, and on the left and right sides. This tempers the effect of the ring snares while saving some weight, and it enables the player to develop new techniques.
Metal rings for effects ring snares line the inside of the drum all the way around to create a traditional Persian sound and it can achieve a variety of sounds by experimenting with different motions
Pretuned to ideal sound these drums are pretuned to a desirable pitch in order to cut down on extra weight and make them more comfortable to play
